Duties

Serves as the District’s senior navigation expert to provide policy guidance, consulting assistance, and staff coordination in navigation, dredging, channels, operations, and maintenance. Provides advisory and policy support related to navigation to various division and program chiefs, including the District Commander. Conducts on-site inspections within the District to evaluate the effectiveness of management, operations, and maintenance. Exercises technical and administrative supervision of subordinate supervisors and employees.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • This position is subject to a one-year supervisory probationary period unless previously completed.
