The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), was established to implement the requirements of the Federal Technology Transfer Act 1986 (FTTA) and related legislation, in recognition that the public good and U.S. industrial competitiveness can be substantially enhanced if technology discovered by federal laboratories is developed commercially. OTT plays a strategic role by supporting the patenting and licensing efforts of our NIH ICs.
Duties
The individual selected to fill this position will:
Provide administrative and technical support for an organization. Develop routine plans or schedules using standard references and existing information. Based on defined objectives, determine specific steps, input required, and/or milestones. Identifies schedule/time required, and estimate resources required. Identify discrete steps of routine business practices that might be opportunities for applying standard quality improvement techniques. Assist in making logistical arrangements as required for meetings.
Respond to inquiries concerning organizational projects and activities. Research information requested and provides that information as required, maintain status of projects, and follow up on actions through contact with office staff.
Implement the records management system for the office to ensure proper filing, accountability, storage, and retrieval of files.
Manage and prepare responses to a wide variety of internal and external correspondence for the office.
Perform a variety of other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

- Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-09 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: identifying procedures required for the completion of an administrative project; responding to inquiries concerning organizational projects and activities; and distributing and drafting responses to internal and external correspondence; OR
You have completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR
You have a combination of post baccalaureate education related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position
