This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Director of Operational Logistics, Office of Base Operations (DOL-3), Base Portsmouth, Portsmouth, VA.
Duties
As a Facilities Materials Assistant, this position performs a wide variety of support functions such as procurement requests, shop budget, maintenance management, environmental and computer system manager responsibilities in support of internal management operations and the management of the Division.
Requirements

- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience include: examining procurements for verification of needed information to properly process procurement; routing procurements to Comptroller Division for final processing; resolving discrepancies between Facilities and Comptroller Divisions with regard to account balances.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
