Duties

Maintains, adjusts, and repairs a variety of bowling equipment having mechanical, electrical and electronic parts, components and assemblies. Typical equipment services includes automatic pin placing machines, automatic scorers, ball returns, telescore and telefoul units, ball drilling machines, pin finders, lane maintenance machines, supervisor for timeliness. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions, but referring to manufacturer's diagrams and specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams using test equipment such as continuity testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and feeler gages. Conducts operational checks, visually checking for worn or damaged parts, traces wiring, disassembles, and makes necessary adjustments, repairs or replaces defective parts, cleans, lubricates, and reassembles the equipment. Follows preventive schedules. Determines which mechanical assemblies are malfunctioning, what parts and mechanisms can be reworked or should be replaced with new parts, and the types of adjustments and alignments required.

Makes such repairs and adjustments as re-timing cams and gears; measuring and regulating the sweep of rakes; replacing broken or worn pins, rods, brushes, bolts, belts, tension springs; filing contact points; and cleaning and lubricating parts. Repairs cracks, chips, and splinters in bowling pins and lanes, using wood plastic and lane stock, sands surfaces, and recoat them with appropriate finishes. Performs other duties as assigned. Highly Preferred Criteria: Willing and able to work a rotating schedule to include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Willing and able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance. Willing and able to push or pull assemblies weighing up to 100 pounds.
