About the Position: Serves as a Water Control Data Systems Administrator responsible for performing and/or directing a variety of work in support of the District's Water Management Program which is responsible for monitoring stages and flows of the Lower Mississippi River and Tributaries.
Duties
Collect, compile, analyze, and disseminate hydrologic/meteorologic data for routine, flood, or other emergency conditions.
Develop and issue project regulation orders during routine, flood, or other emergency conditions.
Maintain the Corps Water Management System (CWMS) database and associated applications, website development and maintenance, server maintenance, Civil Works Business Intelligence (CWBI) Cloud migration, and external website development.
Maintain, develop scripts and computational processes used for data acquisition and visualization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) up to 10% of the time may be required.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work.

Basic Education Requirement for Each Series:
General Engineer - GS-0801 Series
Physical Scientist - GS-1301 Series
Data Scientist - GS-1560 Series
AND
Specialized experience for the GS-12:
One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Analyzing hydrologic/meteorologic data for routine, flood, or emergency conditions AND 2) Maintenance of the CWMS database AND 3) Development of scripts and computational processes used for data acquisition. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. For the GS-12 you must have 52 weeks at the GS-11 level.
With regards to time-in-grade validation, if you held a position other than a GS pay plan, be sure your resume includes the pay plan and the salary you earned during the assignment. Without this information, your time-in-grade validation may not be able to be verified and will result in your not meeting the time-grade requirement for this vacancy.
