This position is located in the MAF Operations Office, Office of Center Operations at the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, LA. The individual serves as the NASA Supply and Equipment Management Officer (SEMO) and Transportation Officer (TO) for the Michoud Assembly Facility managing logistics and ensuring logistics functions are integrating with the NASA Programs on-site. The individual will provide support in property management, space utilization, and project management.
Duties
Directs, develops, or performs logistics management functions that involve planning, coordinating, or
evaluating the actions required to support aerospace flight and facility operations.
Identifies specific requirements for budget, workforce, material, facilities, contracts, and technical
services needed to support aerospace programs.
Serves as Personal Property, Real Property, Property Disposal, and Center Transportation Officer as
needed.
Advises, administers, supervises, or performs professional, scientific, or technical work concerned with
engineering or architectural projects, facilities, structures, systems, processes, equipment, devices,
material or methods.
Serves as liaison, composes and reviews Agency regulations to ensure adherence to the USPS
regulations, and the Department of Transportation and Government Services Administration policies and
procedures.
Ensures Contractor complies with the defined Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements in the
Contract. Conducts contract reviews to evaluate contractor performance.
Provides technical monitoring of support service contract within the scope of MAF's equipment and
logistics management program. Evaluates contractors providing maintenance and repair services to MAF.
Oversees and accounts for all personal property and assists in developing, implementing and maintaining
a formal program for direction, surveillance, and assessment of property systems for government-owned,
contractor-held property.
Supports the development, planning, integration, and implementation of logistics support systems,
equipment, and processes.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level
Providing logistics program support, to include, property management for Facility and Aerospace programs;
Interfacing with design, operations, and maintenance engineers to support facility and program requirements;
Serving as a technical representative on logistics engineering teams and/or a board member at a Program level.

Education
Basic Education Requirement: You must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with a major in one of the following:
a) Engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs
b) Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science or other field of Science
c) Computer Science that included 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of course work in any combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science with at least half of those hours in mathematics and statistics courses that included differential and integral calculus.
If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
Degrees in engineering technology are
not considered qualifying for this position.
