This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), House Office Buildings, Client Services Division, Labor and Custodial Branch. The Custodial Worker performs a wide range of cleaning and other custodial duties in an assigned group of rooms, offices, and public spaces in the House Office Buildings.   

Duties

The tour of duty will range from 5:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  The hours may change due to operational needs. This position is emergency essential - Depending on the type of emergency the employee may be required to report to work during emergency situations. The individual selected for this position will: - Perform a wide range of custodial duties in areas such as hallways, buildings, office spaces, storage areas,  restrooms and restaurant facilities. - Clean, maintain and adjust power equipment; changes rollers, buffers and brushes. - Uses chemicals and specialized cleaning solutions to remove stains from a variety of surfaces such as carpeting, linoleum, tile, wood marble and other surfaces. - Clean, disinfect and deodorize lavatories, urinals and toilet bowls. - Replace supplies as required. - Keep a stock of cleaning materials, restroom supplies, and equipment needed and inform supervisor when more materials are needed and when equipment is in need of repair..
