Duties
Development of designs of varying scope and complexity for civil, military and support for others projects.
Converting various engineering and technical data and measurements into forms useable by the engineers, through use of computer aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques.
Works with architects and engineers performing assignments by the application and adaptation of architectural and engineering methods, precedents and the use of practical knowledge and judgment gained through experience and training.
Applies a technical knowledge of engineering principles, practices, techniques, and methods and such guides as engineering texts, manuals, and files of design reports, and construction plans and specifications.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing drawings utilizing Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques to assist architects and engineers with the design of construction projects; AND 2) Collecting data for the preparation of sketches or design criteria for construction plans and specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
