About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Position is located at Fort Gregg-Adams, in Prince George County, Virginia. Located 3 miles east of Petersburg VA and is Headquarters to the US Army Combined Arms Support Command.
Duties
Perform a full range of security operations to include information, personnel, physical, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Apply security program philosophy, techniques, and regulatory requirements to resolve routine to complex security policy and procedural problems.
Review and develop Standard Operating Procedures to ensure daily operations are conducted in accordance with (IAW) the appropriate policies and regulations.
Perform all functions required to maintain and update the Army's Billet Structure Management System (BSMS).
Process Requests for Access (RFAs), ensuring that all questions on the RFAs have been addressed and the security clearance for individuals have been validated.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Experience providing advice to internal and/or external customers regarding compliance with established security policies and regulations.
Experience validating security investigative paperwork for accuracy.
Experience analyzing data to identify and resolve security problems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
