About the Position: Serves as a case analyst within the Army Review Boards Agency, Army Clemency and Parole Board, with duties relating to the corrections, custody and/or parole of Army prisoners, Arlington, VA.
Duties
Interpreting military, federal, and state correctional regulations and procedures.
Applying proper procedures in regard to the Clemency and Parole Board process.
Knowledge in conducting parole hearings.
Preparing briefings to senior military and civilian personnel.
Evaluating cases to develop summaries of the facts for leadership.
Evaluating each case individually to determine its merit.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting and applying military, federal, and state correctional regulations and procedures for cases; preparing cases for prisoners to be presented to the Agency Clemency and Parole Board; evaluating pertinent facts from military, social, criminal, medical reports in case records; and providing case merit recommendations to leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
