Duties
Provide leadership and direction regarding Alaska land transfer issues.
Resolve novel and complex legal issues of first impression.
Provide oversight for the resolution of land transfer problems; implement adjudication; coordinate with others to resolve issues relating to land conveyance within Alaska.
Serve as an authoritative source and advisor for highly complex or controversial issues, novel facts, and conclusions drawn from historic case and legislative law.
Supervise employees, including evaluating work on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, and ensuring production and accuracy requirements are met. Identify training needs and give advice on work matters.

- Supervisory Probationary Period: If you are selected for this position, you will be required to serve a one year supervisory/managerial probationary period if one has not previously been completed.

- If selected for this position, you will be required to annually complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 within 30 days of reporting to duty.
Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity. Specialized experience is experience in or directly related to examination or adjudication of cases involving laws and regulations dealing with transfer of land title. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: examination and/or adjudication of cases involving land title transfer; adjudication or examination of applications and claims for the disposal, use of, or title to public lands, issuance of leases, licenses, or permits for land or resource use; resolve conflicts arising from use of land. Lead, manage, or direct others with substantial involvement in examinations of titles or other legal transactions (acquisition, lease, or disposals of land) while remaining within laws, policies, regulations, and procedures. Experience with title search, abstract, or interpretation of land records, survey plats, or tract indexes and books; use of various laws, regulations, and policies associated with land management programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
