About the Position: This is a permanent position with the Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Military Programs, Installation Readiness Division, located located at USACE HQ, 441 G St NW, Washington, DC.

Duties

Serve as an authority in developing innovative methods for identifying cost factors and devising complex mathematical models to estimate costs. Evaluate impacts of analyses and study findings on current systems, programs, and policies. Assess strengths and weaknesses of available capabilities to leverage in support of analytical activities. Evaluate all data and integrates results into comprehensive recommendations and reports. Build, develop, and maintain data models and dashboards to support data-driven decision making. Lead multi-disciplinary teams responsible for completing projects that are important segments of much larger overall efforts.

Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) formulating and applying operations research, mathematics, statistics, and/or analytical techniques to analyze data; 2) developing studies and analyses related to the Installations infrastructure and services; 3) briefing higher level officials relating to courses of actions, progress, and/or conclusions of analyses or studies; and 4) identifying cost factors and devising complex mathematical models to estimate costs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13 or above). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Cost Estimation and AnalysisOral CommunicationResearch and Data AnalysisStatistical AnalysisWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
