About the Position: This position is located in Walter Reed National Medical Military Center, Department Of Emergency Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. The position is in an office setting with hours of operation from approximately 0700 to 1530.
Duties
Apply supply guidelines/laws to local supply orders and inventory.
Ensure materials are properly receipted in automated system.
Respond to quality assurance issues according to regulatory requirements.
Monitor automated supply systems for erroneous transactions.
Reconcile account information periodically in accordance to regulatory requirements.
Determine the accountability of all items of equipment from general common use items to sophisticated medical electronic equipment with multiple components.
Serve as purchase card holder for department.
Fill material requirements for assigned areas.
Operate automated systems to maintain procurement and expenditure documentation.
Search catalog and/or records in automated supply system to obtain correct manufacture part number.
Establish contact with suppliers, warehouses, and/or shippers regarding shipment status.
Codes and enters all data into the database, Defense Medical Logistic Standard Support (DMLSS).
Respond to inquiries from customers regarding status of orders.
Expedite urgent requests for delivery of material to a medical treatment facility.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Utilize automated systems such as the Defense Medical Logistics Support System (DMLSS); coordinating purchase requests with customers; tracking supply material, requisitions, contracts or orders; computes and analyzes material requirements; coordinates with other personnel to consolidate ordering. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
