About the Position: This position is located within the Department of Pathology, Clinical Pathology at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.
Duties
Coordinate all purchase requests and receiving reports as the primary logistics point of contact for one or more assigned functions within the Department.
Develop and maintain a system of inventory control for laboratory reagents, supplies, and consumables.
Use automated purchase requisition systems to procure and track medical and nonmedical purchases.
Function as a cardholder for governmental card used for the procurement of reagents, materials or services.
Use office automation and Microsoft Office suite software to develop spreadsheets and databases to maintain contract procurement and budget expenditure documentation.
Assist in completing physical inventory of accountable property at periodic intervals.
Maintain equipment and property records.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes placing supply orders within an automated purchase requisition system such as Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support; assisting with physical inventory of common stock items; receiving shipments of supplies from warehouses to inventory and distribute to customers; and maintaining the supply closet. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
