Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Visual Information Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Supporting the Office of Communications by producing graphic design products and integrated digital campaigns that are consistently creative, research-based, and developed with an audience-first approach in alignment with creative briefs, client goals, industry best practices, and project requirements. Expertise with graphic design principles that can be used with multiple platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Linked In, as well as websites, digital products, and printed products. The incumbent is an expert in graphic design and the related technology and software required to employ the concepts.
Developing print ready files for printed publications, posters, folders, and media kits. Able to lay out publications using commercially available design software, provide graphics, create files and instructions for printers, work with printers to ensure quality, and ensure products are completed on time.
Developing presentations using commercially available presentation software, including graphics, charts, graphs, videos, and photos. Developing infographics, media kits, flyers, handouts, in both print and digital form.
Developing brand standards, visual style guides, logos and templates, and other graphic assets and products for the agency to adopt. The incumbent must be able to present ideas to leadership for adoption and be able to maintain a library of in-house brand standards and color palettes.
Researching, coordinating, and communicating with subject matter experts across the agency to depict and develop visual designs for information dissemination and engagement. The incumbent must be able to work with other staff to first understand the request and the message and then to be able to execute the request to the satisfaction of the Office/Center as well as the Office of Communications supervisor and agency leadership.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
Demonstrating experience in graphics and graphic design for digital, print, and visual communication products, campaigns, and messaging;
Creating graphics for multiple platforms including common social media platforms, websites, and digital and print products for high level executives, private sector partners, health professionals and the public; AND
Creating print ready files for printed publications, posters, folders, and media kits using commercially available design software.
