This position is located in the Department of Labor, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Admin and Management, Civil Rights Center (CRC), Office of External Enforcement.
The CRC is responsible for enforcement activities related to the nondiscrimination and equal opportunity laws applicable to entities receiving financial assistance from the Department of Labor.
The selectee will be required to report to the Washington, DC office with telework available based on agency policy.
Duties
As a Technical Advisor, duties will consist of but is not limited to the following.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be at least 16 years old.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
Qualifications
You must meet the Specialized Experience requirements to qualify for Technical Advisor, as described below. IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. WE WILL NOT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS REGARDING YOUR EXPERIENCE
For the GS-14 : Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal Service.
For the GS-13 : Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-14 is:
Experience conducting investigations and compliance reviews designed to evaluate whether entities are in compliance with the law.
Experience in fact-finding, analyzing, problem solving, and writing, and in assisting others to do so, in order to identify issues and problems in discrimination cases and recommend solutions.
Experience processing, investigating, and adjudicating discrimination complaints.
Experience communicating technical information verbally and in writing
Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-13 is:
Experience conducting investigations and compliance reviews designed to evaluate whether entities are in compliance with the law.
Experience in fact-finding, analyzing, problem solving, and writing, and in assisting others to do so, in order to identify issues and problems in discrimination cases and recommend solutions.
Experience communicating technical information verbally and in writing.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS13/14.
