This position is part of the Office of Administration (OA), Corporate Travel and Relocation Division. As a Travel Officer, you will serve as the Managing Director and DFC Travel Officer and agency expert to the CEO, OA Vice President and CAO, Office Vice Presidents, Board of Directors, and employees on policies and procedures relating to all forms of travel.
Duties
Serves as Managing Director and DFC Travel Officer and provides expert guidance to the CEO, OA Vice President and CAO, Office Vice Presidents, Board of Directors, and employees on Federal travel regulations (FTR), and agency policies and procedures relating to all forms of domestic and international travel.
Supervises staff and directors responsible for completing travel reservations, processing passports and visas, completing travel vouchers, overseeing overseas relocations, supporting overseas employees and offices, and managing the DFC travel card program and centrally billed accounts.
Provides technical expertise, guidance, and project leadership for agency travel and travel audit programs including monitoring, evaluating, writing, revising, and implementing travel policies and procedures.
Oversees the Overseas Relocation Program and provides direction and oversight to offices and employees on all matters relative to the coordination, integration, and synchronization of staff actions, events and activities involving overseas/Domestic Employees Teleworking Overseas (DETO).
Conceives, develops, administers, and implements a wide range of essential operations, activities and services designed to create an environment conducive to realizing optimum efficiency of administrative systems and employee services.
Provides oversight for budget execution and planning, long-range work plan development, implementation of program objectives and goals.

Qualifications
Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement.
TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to lead a team of employees in support of an agency's domestic and international travel program ensuring compliance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR); provide advice and guidance to agency employees and stakeholders regarding the coordination of Domestic Employees Teleworking Overseas (DETO); develop agency policies and procedures in support of agency domestic and international travel programs; and support long-range planning and development to accomplish agency travel program goals and objectives.
Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.
