About the Position: These positions serve as a Training Specialist (Leader Development, Education and Training) pertaining to Operations Security (OPSEC) for the Mission Command Center of Excellence (MCCoE), Force Modernization Proponent Center (FMPC), Fort Leavenworth, KS.
Duties
As a Training Specialist (Leader Development, Education and Training), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Provide subject matter expertise pertaining to Operations Security (OPSEC) on training, doctrine, and curriculum material development as articulated in TRADOC regulations and associated pamphlets.
Deliver course curricula in an adult learning environment and facilitates student discussion to meet course and lesson learning objectives.
Prepare course delivery in both a face-to-face classroom setting and a blended distributed learning environment.
Monitor student progress in accordance with established milestones and evaluates finished projects/products providing comprehensive feedback on student submissions.
Provide input during in training and scheduling conference to synchronize priority training and deconflict scheduling conflicts.
Write and/or rewrite decision papers, fact sheets, information papers, and other products; provides OPSEC equities review of emerging and changing doctrine.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is required approximately 50% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) preparing course delivery in both face-to-face classroom settings and blended distributed learning environments, 2) delivering course material in an adult learning environment, and 3) developing training materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
