About the Position: Serves as the supply technician responsible for all aspects of the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy supply operations.

Duties

Responsible for assets through effective management and maintenance of property books and hand receipts and sub-hand receipts using the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) website. Serves as the primary purchasing official for expendable, durable, and non-expendable items purchased with the Government Purchase Card (GPC) required to support the command. Responsible for the security and accountability of all weapons, equipment and sensitive items stored in the NCOA Arms Room. Responsible for the receiving, inspection, inventorying, loading, unloading, storing, delivering and turning in of organization and Installation supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Hazardous Materials Certification (HAZMAT).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) certification.
  • Must attend the Unit Armorer Course and become certified.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
  • Since this position has unaccompanied access to arms, ammunition and explosives, the position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to carry items weighting up to 50lbs.
  • Pre-employment physical is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of supply support functions such as, but not limited to: maintaining hazardous materials for issue, receipt, turn-in and/or proper disposal; preparing and maintaining sub-hand receipts utilizing the GCSS-Army supply system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
