You will serve as a Regional Dispatch Training & Quality Specialist of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.
Duties
You will evaluate the situation to dispatch required medical and emergency personnel.
You will answer emergency line phone calls to determine the type of emergency response.
You will use multi-channel radios to dispatch emergency units to areas or relay pertinent information to responding units.

- Incumbent is required to be certified as a Telecommunicator, perform NCIC/NLETS/III criminal history checks, certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch, and Training Officer (CTO} and Quality Assurance.
- Incumbent is required to work a rotating work schedule which includes weekends and holidays. Subject to mandatory overtime and recall.
- Incumbent is required to successfully complete the RDC Training Program to include classroom and On - The-Job Training (OJT).
- Incumbent is categorized as emergency essential, (Category 5 in accordance with CNIC 3440. 17), and as such may be ordered to report to duty for extended periods under emergency conditions.
- Must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance .
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: : 1) Interpreting regulations, policies, plans, directives, techniques, procedures and concepts pertaining to establishment of required training; Recommending policies to ensure workforce readiness; 2) Communicating oral and written instructions in order to partake in meetings; Developing and presenting briefs, counsel managers/supervisors on a variety of training issues; Using a wide variety of teaching techniques and tools to complete tasks; Operating of a CAD, Land Mobile Radio, 9-1-1 receiving and/or National Crime Information Center (NCIC) systems; 3) Managing the operation of a trunked radio and talk group system; Interpreting appropriate local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to emergency dispatch and radio communications; Interpreting geography and demographics of Navy Region Installations and the surrounding communities; 4) Putting into effect dispatch center policies, procedures, and publications to ensure successful daily operations; Making independent decisions during emergencies and/or communicating those decisions to higher authority; 5) Effectively self-managing the high mental and/or emotional stress due to emergencies, rigid time constraints, and emotional state of callers.
