This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA).
The primary purpose of this position is to work closely with the Legislative Affairs staff and the staffs of Intelligence and Cyber, CISA and all other DHS components in intelligence and cyber functions in planning, formulating, directing, and coordinating legislative activities for those offices and on behalf of the Department.
Duties
As the Director of Legislative Affairs for Intel Cyber and Ops GS 0301 15, your typical work assignments may include:
Engaging closely with the Legislative Affairs staff and the staffs of Intelligence and Cyber, CISA and all other DHS components in intelligence and cyber functions.
Planning, formulating, directing, and coordinating legislative activities for those offices and on behalf of the Department.
Creating and maintaining a DHS wide Intel and Cyber OLA working group to facilitate and enhance communications and support operational execution.
Clarifyng DHS Intelligence and Cyber objectives and related legislative programs in conferring with congressional leaders and committees.

- You must be able to obtain a TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance
- You must submit to a pre-employment drug test
- Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
- Applicants must live within the Washington D.C. local commuting area.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level (starting salary $155,700) if you possess one year of specialized experience at GS-14 equivalent in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) which include performing such duties as (1) planning and executing a program of activities related to interfacing with Congress, (2) serving as an interface to integrate the legislative affairs activities of Intelligence, Cyber, and Operations, and (3) provides analysis and advice on congressional relations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-grade
Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service.
