As the lead Administrative Officer (AO) in the Engineering Directorate, you will provide organizational support to management, staff, and co-workers on administrative tasks ensuring all are completed within guidelines set forth by the Center and Agency. You will lead a team of AOs to perform administrative tasks such as the processing of Agency/MSFC Honor Awards, incentive awards, training and development requests, Space Flight Awareness Programs nominees, and monthly and bi-weekly data reports.
Duties
Lead a team of Administrative Officers within the Engineering Directorate, serving as advocate for the administrative staff. Provide coaching/mentoring and advice/guidance on work methods, practices and procedures, problem solving, and techniques.
Serve as the primary liaison for human resources management issues, providing advisory services on Federal and Agency human resources policies, regulations, and procedures.
Analyze management issues for the Directorate Office, developing short- and long-range plans to ensure office operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.
Provide management officials and key personnel within the organization support in the areas of office administrative services, human resource management, and suspense tracking actions.
Compile data and review as needed for accuracy. When applicable, ensure requirements are met for various nominations. Provide historical information as reference.
Perform evaluation of administrative areas requiring analysis of interrelated issues such as effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity. Initiate process improvements for administrative efficiencies across the Directorate.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.
Interpreting, advising, and communicating human resources policies, regulations, and procedures.
Utilizing a variety of automated systems for the management and tracking of personnel actions.
Performing process improvement assessments and collaborating with others to institute changes.
