The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Air Refueling and Operations Group systems expert and manager performing critical operations resource functions. Identify and monitor training requirements of aircrew; create, and maintain individual training profiles for goal accomplishment and safety of flight in conjunction with the Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS) and interfaces; create and modify training reports, and provide initial and refresher course training to personnel.

Duties

Determine and monitor the training requirements of aircrew, creating and maintaining individual training profiles for mission accomplishment. Perform Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS) database inputs, maintenance, queries, and audits. Maintain, review, and prepare crew records, electronic files, word processing reports and specific forms. Design and maintain Operations Group Training website for crew member use. Conduct Aviation Resource Management Training. In-process newly assigned crew members, receive telephone calls and greet visitors.

  • Incumbent will be responsible for attending organizational staff meetings as required. Incumbent will present training/currency issues and requirements to Operations Group Commander, Squadron Commander and Section Chiefs.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience which may have been gained while determining required training by reviewing qualification status such as prior training records, position requirements, and expiration date of training in reference to applicable instructions; resolving conflicts in information which may occur from inconsistencies in instructions due to training requirements resulting from changing assignments needs; coordinating, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting on training issues and requirements using training records, program operations and services through the office. OR EDUCATION: Successful completion of one full year of graduate education in a field related to the position being filled. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: : A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. Knowledge of aviation service eligibility and other aspects of the training mission. Knowledge and experience using personal computers, and knowledge of relevant office automation software applications, word processors, website construction software utilizing Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), graphic presentations, spreadsheets. Skill and ability to operate ARMS and its system interfaces and to troubleshoot/resolve system technical problems. Skill in developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team. Ability to work in stressful areas, respond to situations rapidly, to plan, organize, reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
