The primary purpose of this position is to exercise upper level supervisory and managerial authorities over 48 CTS/ Detachment 1 Test Operations Flight. The 48 CTS/Det 1 evaluates cybersecurity and cyber resiliency of the Air Force's kinetic and non-kinetic weapon systems or commercial derivative aircraft platforms.

Exercises management responsibilities and oversees the planning, conduct, evaluation, analysis and reporting of cybersecurity testing of advanced and state of the art aircraft systems and subsystems to include respective support systems.
Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and engineering objectives as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with counterparts or management officials at AFMC Centers, HQ AFMC, HQ USAF, DOD, other agencies, academia, or with contractor engineering specialists.
Meets with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolves significant problems that arise.
Serves as a consultant and expert in electronics engineering, computer engineering or computer science and provides technical direction and guidance for planning and implementation of cybersecurity test requirements.
Represents the organization with a variety of installation, functional area organizations, and other DOD agencies across the AF.

- At least 10 years experience as Electrical/Electronics Engineer, Computer Scientist or Computer Engineer required.
- 5 years of Developmental Test and Evaluation experience in acquisitions programs highly desired.
- Experience working on military aircraft offensive and defensive avionics systems, subsystems and required support systems or equipment desired.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experiences is o exercise upper level supervisory and managerial authorities over 48 CTS/ Detachment 1 Test Operations Flight. Responsibilities include exercise of multi-discipline knowledge in the planning, research, design, development, test, evaluation, reporting, integration, acquisition, dissemination, sustainment, modification, and/or exploitation of complex electronic systems to support the organization's mission objectives.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Professional knowledge of concepts, principles and practices required to support the C5ISR, Space, Aircraft & Munition Weapon Systems and subsystems, and associated Information Technology mission area.
2. A diverse background of experience and knowledge in systems acquisition processes, network/system development and integration, cybersecurity T&E, mission-based cybersecurity risk assessments, and systems security engineering.
3. In-depth knowledge to evaluate complex programs to ensure that system cybersecurity requirements, interfaces, capabilities and program factors are considered in planning, monitoring, and reviewing cybersecurity artifacts, system security engineering documents, and RMF system security plans as part of the acquisition process.
4. Proven experience in the successful execution of Cybersecurity T&E of C5ISR, Space, Aircraft & Weapon Systems and subsystems in acquisition and operational environments.
5. Knowledge of 96 TW, 96 CTG, and squadron policies, workload, technical capability and available resources to plan Cybersecurity T&E activities. Knowledge of AFMC procedures and methods of operating with industry, operational commands and other DOD agencies.
6. Knowledge of and ability to perform human resource management ensuring EEO objectives, professional development, safety regulations, and diversity requirements are met.
7. Recognized expert and mastery of weapon system cybersecurity theories, principles, practices, and techniques relating to systems protection.
8. Knowledge of procedures required to test and evaluate and/or assess and authorize C5ISR systems and subsystems.
9. Skill and ability to speak and write effectively to be able to understand, convey, and discuss highly complex and abstract concepts with key government officials, industry officials, and other military and civilian personnel.
Education
Basic Requirements 1550:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Basic Requirements for 0855, 0854, 0801:In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: A. Degree: Have a Bachelor's Degree in professional engineering from a curriculum (1) in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineer curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (beyond first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics; (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. ORB. Education/Experience: Have a combination of education and experience--college level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences, and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:1. Professional Registration. Have current registration as a professional engineer.2. Written Test. Have evidence of successfully passing the written test required for professional registration or have successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination and have completed all the requirements for either (a) a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology (BET) from an accredited college or university that included 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, or (b) a BET from a program accredited by ABET.3. Specified Academic Courses. Have successfully completed at least 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of courses in the Physical, Mathematical, and Engineering sciences and in Engineering that included the courses specified in "A" above.4. Related Curriculum. Have successfully completed a curriculum leading to a Bachelor's Degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field (e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology) and have 1 year of professional engineering experience under the guidance and supervision of a professional engineer. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering type experience. y
