As a Spatial Data Management Specialist you will address wide range of inquiries concerning data management, data efficiency and improved FTE and/or process efficiencies, space audits and re-measurements, and project budgets.
This position is located in General Services Administration, Public Buildings Service of the National Capital Region, Washington D.C.
We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Coordinates changes submitted by the Realty Specialists to ensure the information is accurate and required forms have been submitted for the proposed change. Provides program and project management support to the GSA PBS National Capital Region, OPMCE Deputy Office Director and Director facilitates, tracks and provides status reports and analysis to Central office, implements the National SDM processes and milestones, including the coordination of the parties necessary for data and drawing reconciliation, leads training sessions on SDM business process, SDM life cycle, OASIS, provides CAD support and expertise in areas such as drawing and assignment data review, collaborates with multiple business lines to validate future year space changes in support of the Rent Estimate, resulting in accurate client budgetary expectations, supports the OPMCE staff with maintenance activities and reporting, including variance reporting and clean-up efforts, generating ad-hoc reports and analysis and responds to data calls for Regional Senior Managers and Central Office.
Ensures the SDM changes to buildings are reflected accurately and timely in REXUS, OASIS, CAFM and CAD Systems. Responsible for tracking requests submitted to the SDM team, coordination of requests with the SDM contractors (if applicable), and review of the contractor's submittals for accuracy and completeness. Monitors the SDM contractor for performance. Responsible for the periodic review of the SDM contractors for the purposes of determining if they are performing adequately or if improvements can be made in the process.
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing the information in the variance reports to ensure the information is consistent in the applicable systems. When differences are found, correct variations to the various systems involved. Monitor the buildings in OASIS as to their audit/re-walk status. Identify and coordinate the audit/re-walks of the buildings with the Service Centers Property Managers, prepare the cost estimates for the audit/re-walks, prepare the necessary paperwork to execute the task order for review and submittal as necessary. point of contact for all data flowing to and from GSA by the contracted sources. Ensures resultant SDM changes to buildings are reflected accurately and timely in the REXUS, OASIS and CAD repositories and other national systems. resents overviews, demonstrations and training, and status to the regional PBS and tenant agency audiences.
Audits business data, reviewing relevant business documents using accepted statistical methods and industry data management practices such as space audits and accompanying spreadsheets submitted by outside contractors. Identifies discrepancies; proposes solutions to errors and extrapolates and synthesizes a variety of raw business data into useful business information and tailored reports such as project plans, schedules, project tracking, maintenance activity reports, ad hoc reports and variance reports.

The GS-12 salary range starts at $94,199 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify for the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience creating, analyzing, maintaining and modifying drawings using the Automated Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD) Map 3D software; verifying accuracy of spatial data for buildings and building features; and analyzing and creating reports to track progress of construction projects. This experience must include applying qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessing or improving spatial data management (SDM) and providing training and/or presentations on the status of contractor accomplishments.
The GS-11 salary range starts at $78,592 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify for the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience creating and modifying drawings using Automated Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD) software, reviewing spatial plans, analyzing problems and monitoring milestones and deadlines for completion of projects related to design and construction, and presenting project status information to colleagues.

Possess 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or PH.D or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Possess a combination of graduate level education beyond the first 2 years of progressive graduate study and appropriate experience that together qualify me for this position.
The GS-9 salary range starts at $64,947 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify for the GS-09, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as Gathering, evaluating, and formatting data for completion of projects and populating stored drawing data in an facility information systems to accomplish its program-process requirements.

Posses a Masters or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree or a LL.B or J.D. related to the position being filled.
OR
Possess a combination of higher level graduate education and appropriate experience that when combined together qualify me for this position.
