Duties

Serves as Manager for Warrior Zone may serve a dual capacity Recreation Delivery Program Leader. Develops, manages, plans, administers programs to support eligible personnel for Warrior Zone. Performs supervisory duties for subordinate employees. As Warrior Zone manager, responsible for monitoring, maintaining electronic gaming equipment, big screen TVs; coordinate inter/intra Garrison competitions and tournaments; overseeing food/beverage operation; programs for requested Soldier interests. As Recreation Delivery Program Team leader responsible for planning, executing of Community Special Events that respond to the needs and interest of the Military/Civilian population. Continuously evaluates effectiveness of ongoing activities, coordinates events with supervisor, prior to scheduling Special Events or prior to submission of Special Events for five-year plans. Prepare a Community Calendar. Conducts periodic staff meetings and takes appropriate action for employee misconduct as well as recommending employee for awards. Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Plans and coordinates training for staff. Markets programs through all available marketing sources. Prepares program Memorandum of Instructions for upcoming programs. Participates in strategic planning initiatives and measures and group brainstorming meetings.

Requirements

  • Work requires the use of physical exertion when preparing for and overseeing events.
  • Must be able to lift and carry light to moderately heavy items.
  • Selected applicant must be able to pass a Medical Physical Examination.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Directly related work experience that provided the applicant the ability, knowledge, skills, principles, methods and techniques to plan, organize, coordinate, supervise and evaluate a recreational program. HIGHLY PREFERRED/HIGHLY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must have at least 3 years' experience coordinating, planning and executing events for a minimum of 10,000 attendees. 2. Experience writing Operations Orders (OPORDS), Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOS) and detailed scope of work for entertainment and rental contracts. 3. Experience developing annual operating budgets, submitting contracts for procuring products, services and entertainment. 4. Experience creating Deliberate Risk Assessment Worksheets and ability to create/deliver briefings to senior management/commanders. 5. Experience directing the setup of event infrastructures to include canopies, staging, tables, chairs, light towers and related set-ups. 6. Experience coordinating food and beverage requirements for events.
