Duties

Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities. Activities included but are not limited to hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, parks, ranges, mountain climbing and overnight recreation trips. Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment. Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses. Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas. Prepares standard operating procedures. May assist in the preparation and development of the annual operating budget and 5- year plan. Performs other duties as assigned.

• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

• Selected applicant must be able to pass a Medical Physical Examination.
• Selected applicant must be able to travel up to 15% for Outdoor Recreation facilities, event and for supervisory functions in this position.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. OR 2. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience. **Resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under the minimum qualifications criteria above.
