About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army Intelligence & Security Command, MICECP Division IG2X located in Fort Meade, MD.
Duties
Serve as the Senior Intelligence Specialist, Support to Special Programs, Operations Support Branch, Directorate of Security and Intelligence. White House Military Office (WHMO).
Coordinates with Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) to develop and assess operational security (OPSEC) measures for WHMO programs.
Provide tailored multi-disciplinary, counterintelligence (MDCI) analysis to identify threats / vulnerabilities and assess mission impact; recommends appropriate threat mitigations.
Conduct pre-employment personnel security screening interviews to ensure prospective candidates meet the stringent requirements of the Presidential Support Program (PSP) managed by the Executive Secretariat, Office of the Secretary of Defense.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a CI Scope Polygraph Examination and pass random examinations thereafter in accordance with Army Regulation 380-67, Personnel Security Program.
- Must sign and comply with the provision of a mobility (rotation) agreement. Mobility may include unaccompanied tours.
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended temporary duty (TDY) or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
- May be required to perform TDY of at least 20% of the time and may be subject to extended TDY.
- Must successfully complete all required certification courses and training (See additional information).

Specialized experience is defined as experience with which include Oversee Counterintelligence missions related to a full range of Counterintelligence (CI) and Counterespionage (CE) investigations which may include but are not limited to the following: Operations Security (OPSEC), CI Special Operations, and CI collection.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service (GG/GS-13).
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
