You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer in the Mission Systems Group, Avionics Engineering Department, Avionics Systems Engineering Division, Tactical A/C Systems Branch of
of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Duties
You will ensure that all technical and operational requirements are met for the development, integration, and testing of applicable avionics and related modifications..
You will facilitate teamwork between the IPTs, NAVAIR competencies, DoD Organizations, Fleet customers, and contractor organizations to implement the proper integration of new and updated hardware and software systems.

You will coordinate specific avionics systems engineering efforts within the assigned Program Office, at contractor facilities, and with the Fleet support teams.
You will determine feasibility of integrating various avionics systems with specific attention to the effects on systems due to the unique aircraft environment and operational tactics required by the operator.
You will manage a variety of technical disciplines and provide leadership to numerous technical personnel, and ensure technical requirements are met through proper tasking and coordination of available professional/technical resources

- This position is a designated Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). You must sign a tenure agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three (3) years prior to assuming the position unless a tenure waiver is approved.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13/14) or pay band DP-04 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional GENERAL, ELECTRICAL, COMPUTER, ELECTRONIC, OR AEROSPACE ENGINEER. Specialized experience MUST demonstrate the following: 1) Generate or/and Approve engineering input to RFP packages; 2) Coordinate technical evaluation; 3) Review or/and Approve engineering related CDRL deliveries; 4) Support Agile development duties; 5) Generate or/and Review Engineering Related Risks, Issues, and Opportunities.

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A (above)

Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
