This position is within the State Aviation Office (SAO) and is located at the Houston Army Aviation Support Facility (HAASF), Ellington Field JRB, Houston, TX. The purpose of this position is to perform work involved in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, calibrating, aligning, and maintaining the complete electronic integrated systems on Army National Guard helicopters.
Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.

Specialized Experience:
To qualify at the WG-12 grade level your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment experience reflecting at least 18 months experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic integrated systems equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic integrated systems equipment. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.

Minimum Requirements:
Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's knowledge of electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integrated systems where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error data and trace back through a number of units of the system to locate deficiencies. Thorough knowledge of principles of digital and analog circuits, electro-mechanical devices, solid state devices, digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory. Ability to interpret and trace schematics, logic and wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
Quality of Experience - Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.
*Other Requirements - For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
