THIS IS A ND NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. Military membership is NOT required. This ND National Guard position is for a INTEGRATED PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF), Position Description Number T0062P01 and is part of the ND G1, National Guard.

Duties

This position is located within the Integrated Primary Prevention Section at the Joint Forces Headquarters- State (JFHQ-St) (S/T/DC). Serves as the Integrated Primary Prevention Specialist leading small teams under the direction of the State Integrated Primary Prevention Officer (IPPO). Responsible for executing and providing oversight for the state integrated primary prevention operations. Position provides critical advice, assistance, and technical guidance to the JFHQ-State to include subject matter experts/state and national level councils, committees and working groups and assists the IPPO in response to inquiries. - Responsible for the direction and technical oversight of all integrated primary prevention personnel; attends all meetings, briefings, and conferences as a lead representative of the integrated prevention program; and responsible for the full range of integrated prevention administrative requirements. Administers and oversees the state integrated primary prevention workforce. - Under the direction of the state IPPO, manages prevention workforce staff actions such as assignments, reviews, evaluations, awards, travel and pay and routing. - Conducts recurring state integrated primary prevention level meetings to review the short, medium, and long-range goals, plans, and milestones. - Maintains regular and effective liaison with higher authorities (NGB personnel, state leadership, etc.). - Develops strategy and programs for improving and maintaining strong relationships with state leadership, and other key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposition is mandatory.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
  • May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless approved by TAG.

Basic Requirements: Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements: Applicants must possess Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE must demonstrate experience analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions. You must also possess the experience, training or education to support your claim for the competency statements listed within the assessment questionnaire. Refer to "How you will be Evaluated" section of this announcement. Part-time or unpaid experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.
