You will serve as a SUPERVISOR in the OFFICE OF THE COMMANDER of NAVAL INFORMATION WARFARE SYSTEMS COMMAND. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the pay band, including higher responsibility positions. Based on the responsibilities of this position (Tier 2), the total adjusted salary may be capped equivalent to GS-15 Step 5 (currently $175,819 Adjusted Pay).

Duties

You will serve as the Inspector General (IG) of Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and as principal advisor to the Commander on audit liaison and follow-up, inspection, investigation, and command evaluation matters. You will oversee and review the integrity of NAVWAR’s operations by ensuring compliance with established requirements for management of programs and utilization of funds. You will serve as the Commander's representative to review, inspect, investigate or otherwise inquire into all matters concerning the Command and subordinate activities throughout the NAVWAR area of responsibility (AOR). You will monitor all agreed to findings and recommendations from reports assigning action to NAVWAR activities.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires a Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position requires certifications in accordance with the requirements of the Naval Inspector General's certification manual (CERTMAN), or you will be required to complete training, obtain and maintain certifications(s) as required by CERTMAN.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band DP-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and supervising an Inspector General's (IG) office functions to include: investigations, evaluations; audit functions and operations.
