This position is located in the Farm Service Agency, Office of Management & Strategy, located in Washington, DC.
Duties
Develop programs and procedures to improve and correct discrepancies in the administrative process.
Develop operating procedures, policies, and instructions in order to facilitate and improve the effectiveness of services.
Prepare minutes in legal form, assuring compliance with basic policies, procedures, and rulings.
Prepare and issue agenda, assuring a quorum will be available and other appropriate participants are notified.
Coordinate a variety of administrative services activities to include the procurement of needed space, equipment, supplies, printing, equipment maintenance, transportation, telephone service, property management, etc.
Detect and analyze inefficiencies or problems in staff actions and requirements.
Review, analyze, and combine all projected or actual budget needs of the organization and evaluate and justify funding requirements to meet those needs.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement 10/27/2023 including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Time in grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
For the GS-12 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: experience planning and coordinating with leadership (high level agency or department officials) to include conduct of independent research, studies, analyses, evaluations and assessments; AND prepare a variety of written materials such as correspondence, reports, and board meeting minutes and to respond to inquiries, present information, explain requirements, and to plan, coordinate, or advise on work efforts.
