This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Communications (OCOM). The Office of Justice Programs' (OJP's) mission is to increase public safety and improve the fair administration of justice across America through innovative leadership and programs.

Duties

Applies a wide range of production methods and techniques to assist in directing and/or editing in-house and remote audiovisual productions involving multiple distribution channels. Provides technical support on recording content and creating complex multimedia products managed inside of the office media studio. Provides audiovisual support at internal and external events, including setting up and recording audio and video footage, setting up and connecting livestreaming equipment, taking photographs, setting up lighting and providing final edited content following the event.

Qualifications

In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 1071 series. Individual Occupational Requirements Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. or Experience: Experience must be in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled. *NOTE: Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position. Specialized Experience Requirements: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To qualify at the GS-11 level, specialized experience must be at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Specialized experience is defined as: Specialized experience is defined as: Assist with production of audiovisual content, including storytelling aspects, narration, audio mix, pace, special effects, editing style and visual content. Arranged the creation and display of multimedia products for booths and displays at events and conferences. Drafted photo captions, video descriptions and podcast descriptions. -OR- Substitution of education: Three (3) full academic years of graduate level education or the successful completion of a Ph.D. or LL.M., if related .-OR- Combination of education and experience: Equivalent combinations of education and experience, as described above. To qualify at the GS-12 level, specialized experience must be at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Specialized experience is: Developed production of audiovisual content, including storytelling aspects, narration, audio mix, pace, special effects, editing style and visual content. Managed the creation and display of multimedia products for booths and displays at events and conferences. Wrote photo captions, video descriptions and podcast descriptions.
