The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars was established by an Act of Congress in 1968 as the national, living memorial honoring President Woodrow Wilson. The Wilson Center provides a non-partisan policy forum for tackling global issues through independent research and open dialogue that seeks to inform actionable ideas for the policy community and the public at large.

Duties
This position is responsible for planning and developing public programs, private briefings, seminars, and other activities that analyze major political and economic issues to inform policymakers and the public. Responsibilities include:
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the Basic Requirement, specialized experience and the Key Core Competencies which will demonstrate your ability to perform the major responsibilities of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Specialized Experience:to qualify you must have at least one (1) year of specialized work experience equivalent to the IS-7 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following types of duties:
Knowledge of and experience with politics, economics, history, culture, public policy, and related issues more broadly to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to programmatic research initiatives related to Canada;
Skill in research methods and practices and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to produce written programmatic materials for publication;
Cultivate relationships and partnerships to expand the program’s public initiatives to identify and select speakers for public events;
Skill in designing, formatting, publicizing events;
Skill in writing grant proposals/fundraising initiatives. Individual helps prepare proposals for funding and narrative reports at the grant period(s)'s end. Individual also participates in fund-raising efforts in conjunction with staff.
Ability to read and write in French is helpful, but not a requirement.

One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".
