This position is located in the Office of Information Management (OIM), Office of Management and Administration, Tax Division. OIM provides support to attorneys by planning and administering mission-critical management information systems that include case management and a time reporting system, administrative database applications, Web sites, and administration of the Division's information governance and records management programs, data collection, reporting, and analysis.

As the Director of the Office of Information Management, you will be responsible for performing duties which include, but are not limited to the following: Manages an enterprise information governance plan ensuring that systems align with current and future IT infrastructure; develops protocols for collection, storage, and access of process improvement information and data. Manages the Division's policies and processes, data analytics, data integrity, quality assurance, and reporting functions. Oversees the development, formulation, and presentation of information on the Division's public and Intranet Web sites and related content management policies. Develops records management policies and oversees management, scheduling, and transfer of records to the Federal Records Center. Serves as a senior consultant to top management officials on the design and operation of mission critical records and systems for case management database, time reporting, human resources, procurement, correspondence and data tracking, digital records, Freedom of Information, eDiscovery, and more. Supports Department information governance initiatives and ad hoc responses to Congressional inquiries, GAO, and Inspector General audits. Plans and monitors the use of funds and the production of budget documents; designs and implements systems of internal control. Supervises employees and contractors; adjusts staffing levels and work procedure or methods; provides advice, mentoring, and training; and approves personnel actions. Establishes employee performance guidelines and expectations, observes performance, evaluates performance, develops work improvement plans, resolves complaints and grievances, and effects disciplinary measures. Manages the hiring process by planning current and future workforce requirements; furthers the goals of equal employment opportunity.

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You may need to submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test result before you can be appointed into this position.
  • A supervisory probationary period is required, if not already served.
  • You will need to successfully complete a pre-employment background security process pending completion and adjudication of the background investigation before you can be appointed to the position.
  • You may be required to complete and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This is not a remote position. You will be required to work in person at our Washington, DC offices. However, some Telework may be authorized.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Director, Office of Information Management at (GS-0301-15), you must possess the qualification requirement listed below: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 or higher grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience includes, but are not limited to: developing database management systems to control the organization, storage, retrieval, security, and integrity of information and data; managing data analytics, data integrity, and quality assurance; and developing written procedures for program evaluation and organizational goals. Time in Grade Requirement: Current government employees on a permanent appointment in the competitive service must demonstrate one year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the occupational series and grade.
