Duties
Serves as the Supervisory APO SUPPLY PLANNER.
Supervises an Integrated Supplier Team (IST) or a Strategic Material Sourcing Group (SMSG).
Responsible for managing and overseeing the accuracy of the final results of the Stock Projection Worksheet (SPW), which is a Time Phased Inventory Plan (TPIP).
Responsible for managing and overseeing the nomination, which is a deployment plan.
Compares supply requirements to constraints, to identify shortfalls and perform risk assessments.
Generates long term and short term purchase requests and stock transport orders.
Supports select multi- Service/Agency programs managed at a regional or national level.
Provides, receives, and analyzes Supplier Collaboration intelligence on DLA Direct and Customer Direct items to maximize efficiencies in meeting demands, as well as providing intelligence for use in management of supplier relationships.
Develops and identifies services which must be procured to move products along the supply chain to the point of sale.
Collaborates with the Stock Positioning Specialists to ensure supply plans are consistent with stock objectives and that supply chain data is consistent with strategic plans.
Serve as member Technical Team Chairperson or the of the Source Selection Evaluation Board (SSEB) representing the Supply Chain Management Division.
Serves a technical expert of the source selection technical evaluation team.
Coordinates the expenditures of government funds for purchase of material and maintains accurate inventory.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, your qualifications must include:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Comprehensive knowledge of inventory management and distribution policies and practices and thorough understanding of the supply management process in performing independent analyses and resolution of highly complex issues and problems in the assigned areas of responsibility.
- Applies a comprehensive knowledge of the supply management and distribution process and considerable skill in study preparation such as milestone charting and defining team/manpower requirements.
- Ability to effectively research/analyze various documents, papers and statistics, synthesize complex data, develop positions/evaluate alternatives, and plan/adjust critical steps throughout the various study phases.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
