Duties
Serves as an Inventory Management Specialist (Demand Planner) utilizing Category II automated data processing systems.
Provides a point of connection between the demand planning process and the customer, Order Fulfillment, and Customer Relationship Management activities.
Develops and enriches the demand plan by combining the elements of statistical forecasts, collaborative demand plans, intelligence provided by appropriate Customer Account Managers (CAMs) and Logistics Management Specialists (WSSMs).
Researches and analyzes product intelligence resources (trade journals, market reports, etc.), which identify information that is relevant to the planning process across many products.
Attends the Demand Collaboration, Demand Consensus, and the Demand/Supply Alignment meetings and is responsible for the development, execution, and resulting documentation of the action plans affiliated with the Demand Planning process.

Qualifications
To qualify for an Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after- competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Comprehensive knowledge of inventory management policies and practices and thorough understanding of the supply management process in performing independent analyses and resolution of highly complex issues and problems in the assigned areas of responsibility.
Comprehensive knowledge of the supply management process and considerable skill in study preparation such as, forecasting, and defining team/manpower requirements.
Ability to effectively research/analyze various documents, papers and statistics, synthesize complex data, develop positions/evaluate alternatives, and plan/adjust critical steps throughout the various study phases.
Comprehensive working knowledge of a wide range of demand management policies/procedures, regulations, principles, concepts and methodologies and terminology.
Knowledge of different demand forecasting techniques and the ability to distinguish when to apply them.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
