You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HOUSING SPECIALIST in the HOUSING DEPARTMENT of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will perform management duties (e.g., organization, developing housing methods, funds management, determining staffing needs, and equipment) to achieve efficiency, continuity, and economy of housing operations. You will coordinate the military family housing, bachelor housing and PPV management programs to assure adequate services and facilities are provided. You will manage an operating budget for government-owned housing to ensure it is executed according to established budget guidelines. You will monitor housing programs (e.g., family housing, unaccompanied housing) to resolve program issues related to housing operations. You will promote an effective working relationship with community organizations affecting off-base housing including local government, police and fire departments, school. You will determine requirements of resources to support assigned housing facilities and infrastructures. You will compose changes to housing policies, procedures, and practices to increase efficiency.

  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supervise a staff to include coordinating recruitment actions, working with the HRO staff and serving as selecting official on hiring actions for the housing staff; 2) Ability to develop, establish, implement and monitor regional management and operational practices, procedures, and policies for the purpose of cost effectiveness, planning, consistency, and efficiency of housing operations; 3) engage with program managers, Commanding officers and staff and headquarters organizations to satisfy housing requirements; 4) Serves as the principal point of contact for the planning of new construction, renovation and special projects for all housing facilities; and 5) Responsible for the overall appropriated fund and non-appropriated fund fiscal operations of the housing operations.
