Serves as Spatial Data Management Program Specialist administering a regional program designed to track, manage, measure, maintain and report on spatial/space assignment data for all Federally owned and/or leased space under the control and jurisdiction of the General Services Administration This position is located in General Services Administration, Public Buildings Service of the National Capital Region. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Duties

Analyzes performance measures for evaluating specific aspects of the Spatial Data Management program such as effectiveness in meeting management and regulatory goals; levels of accuracy in space assignment characteristics and responsiveness to changing operating needs. Manage data contained within complex Public Buildings Service (PBS) business systems, and directly supporting the adequacy, accuracy and uniformity of spatial/space assignment data; management of region-wide initial space measurement and validation (IMV) and subsequent re-measurement efforts; maintenance of accurate spatial/space assignment data; and business line documentation used as the basis for customer agency rent bills and involving complex properties/geographic areas within the regional inventory. Perform troubleshooting analyses of building plans and space utilization surveys, agency consultations, etc. and review data to evaluate and/or resolve concerns or problems. Develop, design and/or recommend corrective action in the form of changes to regional/national policies and operating procedures. Conduct surveys and/or compliance reviews to ensure space or property is measured, validated, and recorded in conformance with program requirements and based on proper utilization and consistency with client agency mission and policies.

Qualifications

For each job on your resume, provide: the exact dates you held  each job (from month/year to month/year) number of hours per week you worked (if part time).     If you have volunteered your service through a National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, Americorps), we encourage you to apply and include this experience on your resume.For a brief video on creating a Federal resume, click here. The GS-13 salary range starts at $112,015 per year.   If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.  To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as experience which demonstrates applied knowledge and skill to perform the duties of a Lead Program Specialist, such experience includes but is not limited to: Knowledge of Spatial Data Management (SDM) program in the areas of spatial measurement and space management policy, tools and systems; Provides expert technical advice on the identification, maintenance and reporting of spatial data depicting the building inventory; Working knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of space management, interior design and spatial data management; Effectively leads and assists team employees in the application and use of techniques, policies, tools and systems of space management, interior design, spatial data management; Skill in fact-finding and research methods required to gather technical and program data relating to compliance with the national SDM program requirements; Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work.
