This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Forensic Sciences, Field Laboratory. This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as a Laboratory Administrative Officer and plans and carries out a wide variety of safety and security, administrative, fiscal and evidentiary management activities, policy research and other duties related to the operational support functions.

As a Laboratory Administrative Officer, your typical work assignments may include: Supervises a laboratory group responsible for all safety and security aspects of the laboratory, advice in all financial and administrative specialty area(s) related to the missions and functions of the laboratory. Provides advice and assistance to those seeking guidance in connection with cause and cure of contracting problems. Performs budget execution work involving the most difficult fund control activities including adapting budgetary policies, analytical methods, and regulatory procedures. Manages all safety and security aspects of the laboratory to include storage, documentation, safekeeping, inventory disposition. Observes worker's performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to a GS-12 performing the following: Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. 1) Planning and executing a wide variety of policies, administrative duties, fiscal activities, or other duties related to operational support functions; 2) Giving advice in all financial and administrative specialty area (s) related to the missions and functions of an organization; 3) Contriguting to management decisions for assigned program areas.
