The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a C-130H (T2A571) Aircraft Maintenance Training Instructor and perform all classroom activities, curriculum development, and revision using approved curriculum IAW Air Education and Training Command (AETC) instructions.
Duties
Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction of supplemental and advanced technical levels of aircraft propulsion fuel courses.
Researches, develops, revises and updates aircraft propulsion fuel course materials in accordance with established learning objectives.
Plans, develops, executes, and evaluates a comprehensive and effective training program.
Maintains professional and technical proficiency and accomplishes difficult, but well precedented special projects related to specialty area, to include staff surveillance visits to various training activities.

- Position has been identified as a faculty member of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC).
- Minimum requirement of associate degree from CCAF or regionally/nationally accredited post- secondary institution in the study or in combination with experience in Aircraft Maintenance specializing in Propulsion and instruction methods/techniques/
- Must have current/prior crew chief experience on C-130H aircraft

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate fields; Supervising or administering a training program; Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis; Providing knowledge of aircraft electrical and environmental systems.

EDUCATION: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of the priniciples and practical methods, techniques, and tools or aircraft fuels specialist to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest.
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and instructional methods and design at a practical level to maintain subject matter experience.
Knowledge of course development, validation and implementation to include tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives.
Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
