Duties
Assists in the planning and development of a comprehensive Recreation Center Program within the framework of local policies and guidelines. Aids in the evaluation of recreational needs by conducting interest surveys, personal contacts with individuals and/or groups, data collection and analysis to determine customer interest. Conducts special events, activities, and services to meet interests of the population. Assists in the management of recreation centers as needed. Assists in the coordination of recreational activities, special events, and community events to achieve maximum use of the recreation center facilities and resources for a target population of 18-25 years old. Assists with the inspections of facilities for proper operation, maintenance, and safety of structures and equipment. Monitors facility usage reports for the recreation centers. Demonstrates work methods and provide work-related guidance, ensures worksite materials and tools are available to complete work. Reports workplace injuries immediately to the immediate or higher-level supervisor, and to the Human Resources office in the absence of the supervisors. Performs supervisory duties in an emergency, or short term, and nonrecurring basis in the absence of the immediate supervisor. Oversee the Recreation Assistants' daily cleaning checklists. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of experience in recreation/leisure service management which demonstrates knowledge of the goals, philosophy, principles, techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning, administering and conducting leisure time activities. Ability to supervise large groups of people Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. A Certificated Program Planners certification or Certified Parks and Recreation Professional Certification is required within one year of being assigned into the position. Must be certified in CPR within 3 months of employment. A combination of experience and education/training may be substituted for the above requirements. Must be available nights and weekends.
