This position is located on the Southwestern Region National Forests, Region 3.
The position is located on a Forest Service unit. The incumbent participates in the development,
coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Volunteers & Service program.

Duties
Facilitate training opportunities and provide technical assistance to assure available learning and knowledge is transmitted.
Assisting in articulating and communicating marketing roles and responsibilities to ensure the program of work is understood by the workforce.
Host webinars and other training events using technology.
Develop electronic news to market program opportunities.
Present data in charts, graphs, tables, dashboards, and reports.
Create reports that compile data into simple and understandable format for management.
Develop reports and resources using data, spreadsheets and other information for presentations, budgets, publications and social media outlets.
Serve as a hands-on resource for data collection.
Ensure that unit strategic plans, mission, vision and values related to the Volunteer and Service program of work are understood by the workforce.
Suggest program changes or solutions that conform to applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
Assist in implementation of a Volunteer and Service program to ensure activities are in sync with the wide variety of program goals, visions and values of the organization.
Provide assistance in marketing the unit’s efforts in developing and implementing a synergized program to identify potential partners and volunteers.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-09: You must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-7) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following:
Participating in the development, maintenance and health of a Volunteer & Service program and partnership engagement;
and/or
Assisting staff with program monitoring and reporting;
and/or
Providing technical assistance, training and development of agreements;
and/or
Assisted in the development of resources and program support to enhance Volunteers & Service efforts in collaboration with field and agency staff, non-governmental organizations, other government agencies, community organizations and/or other local or regional stakeholders.
OR
A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related;
OR
An appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
