The incumbent serves as the Program Support Assistant for the Lake City Primary Care Service. The Lake City Primary Care Service General Primary Care, Women's Clinic, Spinal Cord Clinic and Primary Care Pain Clinic. The incumbent will provide administrative support for the Primary Care Service, which consists of the Chief Medical Officer, Administrative Officer, Nurse Manager, 11.0 FTEE Primary Care Provider Staff, and 37 FTEE Primary Care Nursing Staff.
Duties
Performs work encompassing a variety of office duties and responsibilities in support of the Lake City Primary Care Staff. Advises Primary Care Staff of VA rules, regulations, and procedures concerning administrative matters. The incumbent will initiate the requests for purchase of supplies and equipment that are of special interest to this section. Transcribes and edits from voice or other audio/video software recording meetings, letters, memoranda, manuscripts, etc. containing highly specialized medical terminology and or content, including complex scientific tables, appendices, and data. Serves as timekeeper for all Primary Care Service sections. Has the ability to organize and plan activities of the Primary Care clinic, including making travel arrangements for conferences and meetings for staff, tracking all educational training to assure mandatory training has been completed by the employees of the Lake City Primary Care section. The incumbent manages the Service's Sharepoint site and other directories where information is stored. The incumbent maintains confidentiality in communicating sensitive information and in handling confidential materials. The incumbent serves as the primary control point clerk for the fund control points of the Lake City Primary Care and complies with all acquisition regulations, as well as all federal VA and local policies and procedures to support the organization's mission and needs. Answers and screens telephone calls and visitors to the office of the CMO/AO. Processes and tracks purchase orders for all office activities; maintains running inventories of program and office supplies and equipment; orders equipment and supplies. Maintains, revising as necessary, the office filing systems; handles building and equipment maintenance issues, mail distribution, building access and key distribution; and conducts and reports findings of Environment of Care rounds. The incumbent serves as the Information Manager for Lake City Primary Care Service.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/23/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS 07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: GS-07 You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Experience communicating with staff and resolve patient complaints.
Experience coordinating with other patient administrative areas and coordinating activities with other offices.
Experience proofreading documents for grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Experience with VA Medical Center policies and regulations.
Experience with basic computer applications such as email and Microsoft software.
******You MUST have both Time in Grade AND Specialized Experience to be found minimally qualified. Time in Grade cannot be used as a substitute for Specialized Experience******
Preferred Experience: Experience with Microsoft programs and data reports
