You will serve as a Social Worker/Psychologist of NAS OCEANA.

Duties

You will administer crisis intervention services to patients. You will coordinate continuum of care with other hospitals, agencies, and community or government resources. You will convey comprehensive treatment planning, intervention, and outcomes.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing consultation to installation leadership, medical professionals and the command involving service/family members regarding clinical needs assessments, and/or determining clinical interventions, and utilizing evidence-based treatment strategies and treatment; 2) Providing initial and ongoing case management services to include identification, mandated, and required reporting, risk and lethality assessment, safety planning, incident assessment and domestic abuse allegations involving military medical beneficiaries including military members and families; 3) Initiating, developing, and/or facilitating evidence based group treatment programs to address the needs of families involved in at risk for family violence, such as domestic abuse offenders group. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position is a TIER THREE clinical care practitioner with clinical supervisor eligibility. Applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8: 1. Possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines: a. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree, OR b. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree, OR c. Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR d. Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a one-year APA accredited clinical internship 2. State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology. 3. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination. 4. Must have engaged in two years, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience AND have two years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification. GS-0180, Professional Psychology Series:
Have successfully completed a degree with a major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations. OR
Have successfully completed all the requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. OR
Have successfully completed 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or successfully completed all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology in an accredited educational institution.

GS-0185, Professional Social Work Series:
Have successfully completed a degree in social work that fulfills all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education OR
Have successfully completed a master's degree in social work with practicum.
