Responsible for maintenance and operations of equipment repair duties that encompass the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of all varieties of industrial plant machinery, pipefitting, plumbing, kitchen equipment, medical gas piping systems, associated piping distribution systems, general mechanical equipment and associated mechanical systems throughout the Spokane Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Main Campus.
Duties
Perform snow removal duties as directed. To include but not limited to snowplows, deicer's, gators, mechanical sweepers and brooms
Perform grounds maintenance duties as assigned
Hourly equipment checks and completing preventative maintenance on Chiller Plant equipment
Installation, maintenance, repair of all water, medical gas and vacuum systems
Repairing walls, doors, ceilings, floors, windows, tables, plumbing, locks, lighting, urinals, faucets, toilets, sinks, water chlorination and HVAC equipment
Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) inspections as indicated on PM printouts and complete assigned work orders utilizing appropriate equipment
Construct necessary dust barriers and or block off areas as needed
Follows all safety procedures in the performance of job duties
Must possess and maintain a driver's license
Will perform other duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm

Physical Requirements: Physical demands require intermittent lifting of large articles or assemblies, climbing on ladders or scaffolding, and then maintain body balance while working there, reaching and working on overhead items. Stands, stoops, bends, kneels, climbs, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up parts and equipment that weighs up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds).

SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Examples include: Skill in replacing major portions of various cooling units, such as compressors, condensers, expansion valves, float and service valves, thermostats, coils, and drive assemblies; Knowledge of standard plumbing methods and techniques to measure, cut, bend, and thread pipe and tile, and caulk and seal such things as elbows, union joints, tile pipe, faucets, and shower drains; Skill to remove, clean, reinstall, or replace joints and fixtures, for example, traps, faucets, and unions; Knowledge of the refrigeration cycle of a variety of systems
