The Program Support Clerk position is located in the Mental Health service at JHQVAMC. The incumbent performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the service. The position provides clerical support to the Mental Health training and education programs at Mountain Home.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provides clerical and typing support for the Training and Education programs in the Mental Health Department.
Maintains Standard Operating Procedures
Collects/Compiles data and statistical information using Excel.
Assists with research and tracks data to complete required annual and periodic accreditation reports and public-facing program materials.
Maintains the mailing program.
Assists on the Psychology Training Committee.
Assists all members of the Psychology Training Committee and the MH In-Service Team.
Utilizes printed and electronic files containing sensitive information.
Develop spreadsheets to track information.
Serves as a receptionist for the program.
Process and monitor fund control points.
Coordinate acquisition of supplies and equipment.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:45am- 4:30pm
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs, Software applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint, VISTA system, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, VA regulations, policies and procedures, knowledge of healthcare delivery procedures and practices. Served as program assistant, secretary, administrative assistant responsible for providing administrative services to mid-level managers; Knowledge of medical terminology, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and required formats to prepare correspondence and reports; Knowledge of the medical records, evaluation forms, filing, and distribution systems; able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all employees and community contacts; gather, interpret and analyze information to arrive at a logical conclusion. OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. NOTE: Successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable at grades GS-3 through GS-5 for all positions. Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of undergraduate education.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, but may require some walking, bending, lifting, and carrying of light material such as papers or books. This job may be stressful at times to complete work within required deadlines.
