You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the OCEAN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will provide centralized coordinated management of Ocean Engineering Projects to achieve program strategic objectives. You will have management responsibility to develop project annual budgets. You will coordinate long-range planning for technical and production support with engineering and production branches. You will review and manage schedules, budgets, and earned value of assigned tasking. You will be responsible for ensuring budgets are in line with customer expectations and a continual monitoring process is in place to identify required changes. You will align the organization and strategic direction that affects program goals and objectives. You will align the organization and strategic direction that affects program goals and objectives. You will provide guidance to decisions on acceptance or non-acceptance of Ocean Engineering work based on funding, capability, and capacity assessments of department resources.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing engineering projects to evaluate execution, monitor schedules, manage budgets, or resolve concerns for ensuring the effectiveness of program operations.
