This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Industrial Base (DIB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest Employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Oversee and manage the full life-cycle software and hardware system to support the installation.
Provide daily technical customer support as needed for all installation servers.
Apply a structured systems analysis approach to the design and development of new or enhanced applications.
Manage customer trouble tickets using automated standardized system.
Serve as the Systems Administrator responsible for managing all aspects for the server architecture and operations within the installation and in support of the installation's mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- DoD 8570 Baseline Certification Level I, II, or III complete at time of hire or within 6 months.
- DoD 8570 Computing Environment training complete at time of hire or within 6 months.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) Certification within six months of entering the position.
- One-year probationary period is required.

Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (Systems Administration):
Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing the maintenance of server files, databases, applications and other related software; monitor and analyze system performance and correct deficiencies. Experience in Information Technology (IT) security principles and methods to configure, purchase and install new equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
